Whether you are trying to balance your checkbook, your work and life, or your 10 children, some times we just need to let loose and have a good time, with alcohol involved. There is absolutely nothing wrong with kicking back and having some wine with girlfriends, as blowing off steam can help keep you sane in your day-to-day life. Unfortunately, as we age our hangovers get worse and worse. So what’s a mom to do when she has a to-do list full to the brim, but is suffering from a hangover from the night before? These natural herbal remedies will help curb some of your symptoms, and make it much easier for you to ‘mom’ even though you just want to crawl back into bed and sleep it off.

Creeping Thyme (Thymus praecox)– Great for general hangover symptoms, creeping thyme is a general painkiller and can be brewed into a tea.

Roseroot (Rhodiola rosea)– For the mental fog that overcomes your brain during a hangover, roseroot works wonders on fatigue, exhaustion, and lack of concentration.

Self-heal (Prunella vulgaris)– If you have general inflammation, aches and pains, self-heal does exactly what it sounds like it should.

Stinging Nettle (Urtica dioica)– Stinging Nettle is know for it’s detoxification properties, and it will give your liver and kidneys the boost they need to get through the day.

Valerian (Valeriana officinalis)– If nothing else works and you just need to sleep it off, Valerian root is your best bet. Use only as a last measure, if you have a sitter to watch the kids as you nurse yourself back to health and happiness.
