How to Build a Home Gym for Under $100

Times have changed, but you fitness doesn’t have to.

Depending on what state you live in, your gym may or may not have reopened. Even if it has, chances are you have some doubts about whether or not it is wise to return.

If the COVID-19 pandemic has taught us anything, it’s that there are plenty of ways to maintain your health without an expensive gym membership. Having fitness equipment at your beck and call frees you up, in terms of options, since we don’t know how this pandemic thing is really going to play out.

The good news is, you can put together an at-home gym for under $100. Here are the basic things you need to buy, to keep your body in shape regardless of the status of your gym.

Exercise or yoga mat: $20. The first thing you need is something to work out on. An exercise or yoga mat is easily transportable, and protects both your joints, and the floor.

Resistance bands: $12. Resistance bands are perfect for at-home gyms, because they don’t take up a lot of space and can provide many of the benefits of free weights.

Kettlebell weight: $20. A good kettlebell weight can perform a lot of different exercises, specifically for the lower body.

Medium Dumbbells: $25. Medium dumbbells are great for upper body exercises, specifically bicep curls. You can start with 8-10 pound dumbbells and work your way up.

So there you have it. With these essential items, you can keep your body in shape no matter what happens with traditional gyms in the future.
